Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address and a password, or your Google or Apple sign-in identity, plus the profile details you choose to provide: display name or alias, full name, phone number, address, city/state/ZIP, bio, photos, languages, services offered, hourly rate, and availability.

Activity on the Service

We store the bookings you create or accept, messages you send within booking conversations, reviews you write, users you block, and reports you submit.

Purchase information

Subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We receive subscription status information, such as active, trial, or expired, through our subscription partner RevenueCat. We never see or store your credit card details.

Device information

If you enable notifications, we store a push notification token for your device so we can deliver booking and message alerts.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history, and the Service does not show third-party advertising.

How We Use Information

• To operate the Service: matching clients with Pals, managing bookings, delivering messages, and displaying profiles.
• To send push notifications about bookings, messages, and account updates. You can turn these off in Notification Settings or your device settings.
• To manage subscriptions and unlock membership features.
• To keep the community safe: reviewing reports, enforcing our Terms, and preventing abuse.
• To respond to support requests.

What Other Users See

Your public Pal profile, including alias, photo, bio, city/state, services, rates, availability, and reviews, is visible to signed-in users browsing the Service. Your email, phone number, and street address are not visible to other users. Users you book with can see your display name and profile photo in the context of that booking.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers who help us run HourlyPal:

• Supabase for database, authentication, and file hosting.
• RevenueCat for subscription management.
• Apple and Google for payment processing and app distribution.
• Expo for push notification delivery.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete Account, which permanently removes your account and associated personal data. See Delete Your HourlyPal Account for details.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections using HTTPS and stored with access controls. On your device, sign-in tokens are stored in the operating system's secure keychain.

Children

The Service is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
